Other Important Things to Know

Please take a look at the following things to think about when coming to Gertrude’s Writing Room.

Street parking is available on Monmouth in front of the building. It is free, however spaces are limited. If street parking in front of the building is not available, you can park on the other side of Monmouth or on Wyandotte St. East (paid parking during the day – free after 6pm).

Entrance to the writing space and office is via a set of stairs. We are currently not wheelchair accessible but are working on a solution. We appreciate your patience.

Gertrude’s Writing Room is happy to provides coffee, tea, water, soda and light snacks during classes and some workshops. During one or multiple day workshops, there will be a break for meals, and participants can either bring their own lunch or a meal(s) will be provided. Food/allergy concerns will be given during registration.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to choose your seat and prepare your work, beverage/snacks.

There is one large table and one small table that will be used during classes/workshops. Chairs vary in shape and size. Please know we do our best to create a safe, comfortable seating and writing experience.

There is one bathroom at Gertrude’s Writing Room. It is gender-neutral.

We are happy to post event flyers, business cards and information regarding the incredible creative things that are happening in Windsor/Essex County in the Gertrude’s Writing Room space! Be sure to check the board for information on events and fun times.
