Comic Book Writing for Kids – Two Part Session

Thursday, July 25, 2019 – 10am – 11:30am @ Rogues Gallery Comics (327 Chatham Street West – street parking available) – Featuring a tour of the comic book shop and history of comic books with owner Shawn Cousineau. *Free comic book too! And the store is open if you’d like to purchase comics. *

Friday, July 26, 2019 – 11am – 1pm @ Gertrude’s Writing Room (628 Monmouth, entrance around the back of the building) – Featuring comic book illustrator Glen Hawkes and writer Vanessa Shields team-teaching comic book art and story structure. Includes lunch and all drawing and comic book items. *Please bring your comic book character(s) and story idea to this session as we’ll be using it to create a comic book!
Cost: $50.00 for both sessions ($30 for each session if you are only able to attend one)

Join the owner of Windsor’s finest comic book store, Rogues Gallery Comics, Shawn Cousineau, and comic book writer and illustrator Glen Hawkes as they lead a two-part workshop that will teach you how to write and draw comics. The workshop includes everything you need to create your own comic book – the paper, the writing utensils, and the information! Beginning with a brief history of comic books and then in-depth lessons on how to create characters, create story lines, and sketch illustrations – by the time you’re done, you’ll be a comic book writing pro!

This workshop is for kids aged 9 and up! Parents/Guardians, please register for your child(ren).
